1944 D-18

$25,000

This 1944 scalloped (last year) braced D-18 was purchased by a Navy man in San Diego before departing to the Pacific to fight World War II. He and it survived multiple Kamikaze attacks before returning home. He became a semi professional bluegrass and country musician, going so far as being offered a spot in the Grand Ole Opry house band- but turned it down to stay in small town Arkansas. This guitar is housed in the original case and still has the original plastic button tuners pictured in the photo below- circa 1950s. This guitar will be sold with a fresh neck set by luthier Judge Wolfe. Call Dying Breed at 870-818-3434.
