1937 Gibson Advanced Jumbo

I’m beyond excited to offer this guitar for sale. This is a 1937 Gibson Advanced Jumbo, arguably the most desirable and sought after of any model made by the manufacturer. The AJ was produced to be the direct competitor to Martin’s D-28. Only made from 1936-1938, three hundred examples were produced. Many are in rough condition but this one is one of the cleanest ones to change hands in the last few years. It retains original and perfectly working tuners as well as a 100 percent original finish. Also present is the original Fretboard, logo, inlays (used exclusively on the Advanced Jumbo model), end pin, and pickguard. The Adirondack spruce top is in fine condition and crack free. The rosewood back and sides is a truly rare feature from Gibson in any era and the set on this guitar is the finest I’ve ever seen. The scalloped bracing is intact and all original. There is just one small repaired finish crack in the back along the seam. The bridge is a Brazilian rosewood exact replica of the original and the bridge plate is original. This guitar is housed in the original redline hard shell case, and has been in one collection uncirculated since 1979. The sound is beyond exceptional. Rarity, condition, originality, desirability, and materials necessitate its current retail value. Original case is included.
