1942 D-18

For my money the D-18s Martin made between 1940-1942 are the best they ever turned out. My first pre war era Martin was a 1941 D-18 purchased way back in 2012. I still have that guitar. I’ve traveled that world with that guitar. I’ve been in tornado shelters with that guitar. The Adirondack they used in that time to make the tops is superb. The same can be said about the hand scalloped X bracing and ebony. The perfect design collided with the best materials and expert craftsmen to produce the sound that is in your head. This 1942 has a nicely repaired head stock crack. Check the prices of these guitars. We just sold a 1936 for $85,000. This 1942 D-18 with original finish. Please contact us for pricing.
